KRISTINE KRUTA

cellist | producer | arranger | new york

Prior to the Covid-19 crisis, I was frequently touring, running my orchestra, and had just begun my very first Broadway show. I was not spending much time at home and was saving as much money as I could manage in hopes of soon purchasing some nice quality home-recording equipment.

All of that came to an abrupt halt on March 12 and I was suddenly quarantined alone with no work, no car, and no paychecks.

I did, however, remember that my trusty old laptop had the ability to record. While it is not the studio-quality that I have grown so fond of in my profession, I am still committed to being true to myself and making music even in the midst of this pandemic. I wrote and recorded this entire project via my laptop speakers in my slightly-noisy Brooklyn apartment in hopes that you will consider purchasing it to help me support myself while we weather out the coming months of uncertainty. After its release, I was able to use the profits to invest in one microphone for my home. I am so grateful, and excited to create more (and higher-quality) music for you.

With all that said, I bring you 'scenes from isolation' - a brief summary of what I've felt during my solo quarantine time. If you listen and find that you enjoy it, it would mean the world to me if you could forward it along to someone you think may care for it as well.

sincerely yours,
kristine
